Two ways to live

Work within the Community

As a community church we are involved in many ways of reaching out with the love of God to all people in the surrounding area.

Our building is used throughout the week by various groups including our own church family to make a positive difference to people's lives.

Monday 7:45 - 8:45pm Zumba Fitness Dance Class

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba® program is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party ™ that’s moving millions of people toward joy and health. No booking required £3.50 per class.

Tuesday 6:30 - 8:30pm Weightwatchers

As the weight loss experts, weightwatchers know how to help people learn how to lose weight and keep it off. For nearly 50 years, a combination of healthy eating, activity, small changes in behaviour and group support has been at the heart of the Weight Watchers philosophy.

Wednesday 5:00 - 6:00pm Urban Dance 5-11yrs

Junior street dance £3.50 per class.

Thursday 9:30 - 11:30am Coffee and Crafts

Coffee PotEvery Thursday morning from 9:30am for a couple of hours St. Stephens opens its doors to host coffee and crafts. Used by various groups and open to all, coffee and crafts offers a variety of activities: crafts, games, gardening, gentle-exercise, etc. It is a safe place where you can be listened to whilst sharing a nice cup of tea or coffee and a slice or two of toast and preserve.

It is a great place to make friends and form excellent relationships with others, used as a bridge by some, to get to know the church and members of the church before entering into Sunday worship.

Streetwise YouthFriday - 7:00 - 9:00pm Streetwise Youth Night. Year 5-Year 9.

A night for young people in Y5 - Y9.
Lots of things to do like pool, football, rounders, karaoke, crafts, disco's, trips out. You can make friends, have fun and learn some stuff about Jesus.
Our aim is to allow young people to be in a safe and fun environment, to let young people know that they are loved, they are special and they are unique and God loves them...even more than what we do!
We spend about 15-20 mins of the night exploring issues that young people face and giving a Christian view to them. ALL young people in Y5-Y9 are welcome, it's just one pound to get in, we are open 7-9pm on Fridays, and make sure you bring  bit extra to spend in the tuck shop. See you there!?!

We are also involved outside of the Church building...

Door to door offers of help

A dedicated outreach group has been developed which goes out on a Sunday evening and engages with people on their doorsteps. The team is committed to listening to people and their needs and offering prayer and practical support in any way they can. The group is made up of local people with a heart for the area and a heart to see God's kingdom established locally. They feel that it is a true priviledge to be serving God in this way.

Response to the team visits is excellent with people opening up their doors, engaging in conversation, sharing their worries, concerns and the occasional ice cream.

If you live in the area of Bentilee and would like a visit from the team, why not contact us today. The offer of ice cream is optional.

Schools

Regular assemblies are done at Maple Court School and the school throughout the year visits the church at various times.

Residential homes

The Church offers shortened services of Holy Communion to various homes throughout the year.
